Kilrich Industries will receive $213,000 from the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor) to upgrade their existing truss plant and purchase computer equipment to modernize the production of their trusses.
This investment in the automation of truss manufacturing will enable faster production of trusses as well as an increase in design capabilities, both of which will encourage increased business and employment opportunities for Yukoners.
Kilrich Industries Limited Partnership is owned and controlled by five First Nations and First Nation organizations and is governed by a board of seven directors. It owns and operates the only significant commercial truss plant in Yukon.
Aboriginal Economic Development
Investment in this project was made possible through CanNor’s Aboriginal Economic Development (AED) programming which includes the Aboriginal Business Development Program (ABDP).
Annually, CanNor has $9.5M for Community Economic Development programs and $2.3M for ABDP across the three territories.
